As well as Merlot, a variety that gives great charm in its first years of ageing, the wines of Vieux Château Certan contain an exceptionally high proportion of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Traditional partners in the blend, they complete the Merlot wonderfully well, bringing the wine unequalled finesse, elegance and pedigree.

Every year, we carry out numerous tastings in order to judge the quality of the wines of each plot of vines. The different batches selected are then blended to make Vieux Château Certan, our First Wine, and La Gravette de Certan, our Second Wine.
