While the spring weather conditions required the greatest vigilance
from a very early stage, the summer paved the way for a more serene
approach in the vineyard. The flowering was disrupted by the contrast
between a cool beginning to the growing season and sudden heat
that impacted the potential crop size but had no adverse effect
on the future quality of the vintage.

From mid-July to the end of August, fine sunny weather, without
excessivelydry conditions and with little rain, enhanced the key
conditions for optimal grape development.

A perfumed Merlot brings balance and smoothness and contributes
depth of colour and roundness to the blend. An aromatic and complex
Cabernet Franc brings character, and with its length of flavour and
complexity, it leaves its hallmark signature on this vintage.
Finally, the Cabernet Sauvignon, in high proportion in the blend this year,
offers a final aromatic floral touch along with complementary structure.

Celebrating a century of family ownership of the Estate,
Vieux Château Certan 2024 stands out for its balance between
freshness and roundness and between fruit character and length of flavour.
